I’m a beginner, can I join an online class?Yes! You are welcome to join an online class or have a recording. My recommendation is to start with the slower paced Wednesday Hatha class and see how you get on. The Saturday Hatha Plus class offers a few more (optional) challenges. The Monday Ashtanga class is suitable if you are looking for more of a flowing, physical challenge.

Do I need any equipment to do yoga?I highly recommend investing in a yoga mat. They are ‘non slip’ and safer for standing poses. If you don’t have a yoga mat, you might utilise an exercise mat or blankets for cushioning until you can get a yoga mat. There are a wide range of yoga mats available online which vary in price. You don’t need a fancy yoga outfit - some comfortable clothing for moving is fine. You might also like to have an extra layer for the relaxation as your body will cool down. I’d also recommend having a quiet, uninterrupted space for you yoga practice. Let any people around you know it’s your hour on the yoga mat not to be disturbed!

Anything else I need to know?I recommend avoiding eating anything heavy an hour or two before yoga as a full stomach might be uncomfortable. Be well hydrated before a class. Have some water nearby for small sips during class, if needed. My yoga classes work with yoga postures (moving and still), breath work, mindfulness, meditation and relaxation. It is your choice and responsibility how much you do. You are always welcome to modify or adapt the yoga practice to suit you on the day and to rest down at any time. Come and give it a go…and feel free to stay online after class if you have any questions.

I’m a beginner, can I join an online class? We’d love to have you join our online community. Remember, you’re welcome to have the camera on or off depending on whether you’d like me to see you or not. Some people have the camera off during the actual class and turn it on at the start to say hello and again at the end to say goodbye.

Anything else I need to know?Remember it is your complete choice and responsibility how much you do. Take it easy and adapt the practice to suit how you feel on the day. It is always fine to rest down and enjoy some breathing rather than moving.
